This is a translation for convenience; the Spanish version prevails.
Orbi is an app that helps a family get organized to care for an older person. For it to work we need to store information — and some of that information is sensitive: medications, health readings, notes on how the day went.
This page explains what we store, what for, who it’s shared with and how to ask for it to be deleted. It’s written to be understood, not to cover ourselves.
Orbi is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. It’s a tool for getting organized and remembering things. If you have any question about the health of the person you care for, always consult a professional.
Who is responsible
Orbi, operated from Argentina. For any question about your data: info@orbi.care. We answer every request.
What information we store
From your account
- Your name and your email address.
- Your password, stored encrypted — no one at Orbi can see it.
- If you sign in with your Google account: your name, your email and your profile photo. We don’t ask for or receive anything else from your Google account.
About the care circle
- The name of the person being cared for, their age and their health insurance (obra social), if you enter them.
- Who is in the circle and what role each person has.
- Emergency contacts, if you enter them.
Health data (sensitive information)
- Medication: what they take, at what dose, at what time, and whether it was given or not.
- Health readings: blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and any other values you log.
- Medical appointments and tests.
- Prescriptions and documents uploaded to the circle.
- Daily notes on how the person was doing.
From the chat and voice notes
- The messages written in the circle’s chat.
- Voice notes, and their transcription to text.
About payments
- Which plan you have and since when.
- Orbi never sees or stores your card number. Payments are processed by Stripe or Mercado Pago on their own screens. We only receive confirmation that the payment went through.
Technical data
- A device identifier, so we can send notifications to your phone.
- Error logs, so we can fix what breaks.
From the public website (orbi.care)
In the care home directory we measure which pages are opened, which search engine the visit came from, from which country, and whether it was a phone or a computer. We don’t use cookies or store anything that identifies the person. That’s why there’s no consent banner.
If you send an inquiry to a care home, we store what you wrote in the form: your name, your WhatsApp or your email, and your message.
What we use all this for
- To make the app work: showing the circle, the medications, the appointments.
- To let you know when there’s something to do or someone has written.
- To transcribe voice notes and put together daily summaries.
- To charge for your plan, if you have a paid one.
- To reply when you write to us.
- To understand which parts of the app are used and which aren’t, so we can improve it.
We don’t sell your data. We don’t hand it over to advertisers. Orbi doesn’t show third-party ads inside the circle.
Artificial intelligence
Orbi uses artificial intelligence to transcribe voice notes, put together the daily summary and help us answer inquiries from the directory.
To do this, the text or audio is sent to Anthropic, the company that provides that service. It is used only to generate that response. It is not used to train models.
Who it’s shared with
Only with the providers Orbi needs in order to work. Each one sees only what it needs:
| Provider | What for | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and accounts | Everything stored |
| Vercel | Hosting the website and the app | Connection data |
| Google Firebase | Phone notifications | The device identifier and the text of the notification |
| Anthropic | Transcriptions and summaries | The text or audio being processed |
| Stripe / Mercado Pago | Payments | Your email and the payment. They handle the card |
| Resend | Emails we send you | Your email address and the message |
Some of these providers have servers outside Argentina, so your information may be stored in other countries.
We also disclose information if required to by a court order or a competent authority.
Who can see the circle’s data
Only the people in that circle, according to the role given to them by whoever manages it. One circle can’t see anything from another circle.
On Orbi’s side, access to the database is limited to the two people in charge of the project, and it is used only to fix a technical problem or handle a request from you.
How long it’s kept
- For as long as your account is active.
- If you ask for it to be deleted, it’s deleted within 30 days.
- Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
- Backups are automatically overwritten within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- Show you what information we have about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your account and all your data.
- Give you your information in a file to take with you.
Write to us at info@orbi.care from your account’s email address. We reply within 10 business days.
How to delete your account
From the app: My profile → Delete my account. Or send an email to info@orbi.care from the address you use to sign in to Orbi, with the subject “Borrar mi cuenta” (Delete my account). All the details are at orbi.care/en/borrar-cuenta.
We delete your account, your personal data, and any circles where you’re the only member. If the circle has other people in it, the circle stays and only your part goes. We do it within 30 days and let you know when it’s done.
In Argentina, the supervisory authority is the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (Agency for Access to Public Information), and you can file a complaint there if you believe we have not handled your data properly (Personal Data Protection Law No. 25.326).
Minors
Orbi is for people aged 18 and over. It isn’t designed for children and we don’t knowingly collect data from minors. If we detect an account belonging to a minor, we close it.
Security
Data travels encrypted and is stored on servers with restricted access. Each circle is isolated from the rest by rules in the database. No system is one hundred percent secure: if there were ever an incident affecting your data, we will let you know.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything important, we update the date above and let you know inside the app. Previous versions are available if you ask us for them.
