Terms of Service

This is a translation for convenience; the Spanish version prevails.
These are the rules for using Orbi. By creating an account, you accept them. They are written in plain language on purpose.
Orbi is not a medical device and does not replace anyone. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. It is a tool for getting organized and for remembering. Medication reminders are just that: reminders. The responsibility for giving a medication, deciding on a treatment or calling a doctor always lies with people, never with the app. If you have any question about the health of the person you care for, consult a professional. In an emergency, call emergency services.
What Orbi is
A web application where a family sets up a circle around an older person and shares what’s needed to care for them: medications, appointments, health readings, daily notes and a chat among everyone who helps care for them.
Orbi also publishes a directory of senior care homes at orbi.care.
Who can use it
People aged 18 and over, with the legal capacity to accept these terms. If you set up a circle for another person, you declare that you have their consent or that you are legally entitled to do so.
Your account
- The information you enter must be true.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account. Don’t share it.
- If you think someone has gotten into your account, write to us right away.
- Whoever manages a circle decides whom to invite and what each person can see. Think it through before inviting anyone: health information is sensitive.
What you can’t do
- Use Orbi for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten or harm anyone.
- Enter a person’s data without the right to do so.
- Try to get into other people’s circles, or into parts of the system you’re not entitled to access.
- Copy the directory by automated means, resell it or publish it as your own.
- Impersonate another person or Orbi staff.
If any of this happens we may suspend or close the account, with notice unless the seriousness of the situation does not allow it.
Plans and payments
- There is a Free plan that is genuinely useful and doesn’t require a card.
- Paid plans are monthly and renew automatically until you cancel them.
- The price of each plan is the one shown on the pricing screen at the time you sign up. If we change a price, we will let you know before it applies to your charge.
- Payments are processed by Stripe or Mercado Pago. Orbi does not see or store your card number.
- You can cancel whenever you want. Canceling stops the renewal; you can use the month you already paid for until it ends.
- Any applicable taxes are charged separately, according to the law of your country.
Refunds
If we charged you by mistake, or if something in Orbi didn’t work and you overpaid because of it, write to us at info@orbi.care and we’ll refund it. We don’t refund a month that has already been used just because you changed your mind, but if the case is reasonable we’ll look into it: we’d rather solve it than argue about it.
The care home directory
Directory listings are put together from public information and from what each care home sends us. Orbi does not verify, recommend or endorse any care home, unless the listing expressly says otherwise.
When you send an inquiry, we pass it on to the care home. What happens next —whether they reply, what they offer you, what they charge you— is between you and them. Orbi is not a party to that agreement.
If you run a care home and want to correct or remove your listing, write to us and we’ll do it.
Care professionals
Orbi lets caregivers and nurses publish their profiles. Orbi is not an employer or an employment agency: the working relationship, pay and conditions are agreed directly between the family and the person providing care.
When Orbi marks a profile as Verified, it only means that we reviewed the documents that person submitted. It is not a guarantee of their performance or a recommendation.
What’s yours and what’s ours
Everything you add to your circle is yours — notes, voice notes, photos, health data. We don’t use it for anything other than providing you with the service, and you can take it with you or delete it whenever you want.
The Orbi name, logo, design and code are ours.
Availability
We do everything we can to keep Orbi running at all times, but we can’t promise it will never go down. There may be outages due to maintenance, or to failures on our side or in the services we use.
Don’t rely on Orbi alone for anything critical. If a medication can’t be skipped, also set an alarm on your phone or keep a written note. We mean it.
Liability
Orbi is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or health decisions made based on what was entered in the app.
None of this limits the rights you have under Argentina’s Consumer Protection Law No. 24.240, or our liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence.
Closing your account
You can leave whenever you want. To delete your account and your data, write to info@orbi.care with the subject “Borrar mi cuenta” (Delete my account), from the email address you sign in with. Details on what gets deleted are in the Privacy Policy.
We may close an account if these terms are breached, or if we stop providing the service. In that case we will give you reasonable advance notice and a way to take your information with you.
Changes
If we change these terms, we update the date above and let you know inside the app. If the change affects you significantly, we’ll tell you before it takes effect.
Governing law
The laws of the Argentine Republic apply. If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it by writing to each other. If that isn’t possible, the courts of the consumer’s place of residence have jurisdiction.
